This is Bill - The ham-fisted handy man

The above picture shows Bill preparing to cut the new counter top. This new surface is a water-proof material from Home Depot that will be used to support the new sink and can be tiled. From the sheet of material, Bill cut the two sides that run vertically, and the horizontal top.

Bill Waller is the most productive person I know. He will take on any project in the world, and rarely breaks a valuable object in his course of actions. This blog is intended to follow and profile his projects. The first project is a new sink installation and new flooring in a small house in San Marcos.

The sink had the typical faux-marble counter top. We had purchased a pretty mexican sink a couple years before, while crossing the border in Laredo. This sink came into the possession of our twenty-something daughters, who wanted it installed in their house in San Marcos. This sink style is more appropriate for our daughter's age group. The picture above shows Bill holding a paper pattern on the left, which his friend Bob traced from the old sink top. Bill is holding on his right, a newly cut water board top, which was cut from the paper pattern, and should fit the new sink top surface. The yellow tile Bill is holding is his choice for the sink top surrounding the sink. It came from Televerde tile in north Austin. It is a true Mexican import, costing about $1.60 per 4" tile. The sink cost $45 and the new faucet fixture from Lowe's was $99.
